Aircraft

This subject area deals with all types of military aircraft that are either currently in service or have recently been withdrawn from active service. Aircraft are listed by their original manufacturers alphabetically and then by chronological order. Each aircraft is detailed with a picture or silouette along with statistical information regarding its performance.

The primary way in which aircraft are designated within this list is by fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft although notable exceptions such as the Bell/Boeing MV-22 Osprey are listed in the rotary wing section. Experimental aircraft and those currently in testing are also listed seperately as no solid confirmed information is available about many of them.
